Frequently Asked Qestions
Is Vig Village right for my level?
If you understand me (80-90%) that's intermediate level you’re ready! Don't worry if speaking is difficult and you make mistakes - this is how you improve!
What time are the chat rooms?
Join a chat room any time between 8 am and 11 pm CET, Monday through Friday; 8 am to 8 pm at the weekend.
Join when you want and stay as long as you want.
How many people are in the groups?
You will always speak in small groups of three or four, including you. These are called "chat rooms."
How do I know this isn’t a scam?
Google me. You’ll see I’ve been teaching online for over ten years. There are Facebook reviews, TrustPilot reviews, YouTube videos, blog articles, etc. You can scam people for a short time before someone complains. You can not scam people for ten years and no one complains.
How much can I speak?
Members have unlimited talk time. That means you can join a chat room for 15 minutes or 15 hours. You can join once a week, once a day or three times a day.
Will I talk with native speakers?
Yes! There is always a native speaker in the chat rooms.
Won’t I learn mistakes if I’m talking with other students?
Vig Village citizens do more than talk, they also get a daily routine. This daily routine teaches them correct sentences so they don’t have to worry about learning mistakes from other members.
How much time do I need?
Something is better than nothing.
If you only have 15 minutes a day, why not join a chat room?
Of course, if you've got more time, great! You'll make faster progress.
Is Mr. Vig active inside Vig Village?
Yes. I’m usually in the Saturday evening chat room. Plus, citizens (that’s what we call “members”) can join a weekly coaching call with me where they can ask me questions, get feedback, and hear a new lesson.
Can my child join?
No, this training is for adults only. The reason is, you will be speaking to each other in the chat rooms. And adults prefer to speak with other adults.
What if I’m too busy to join a chat room every day?
Most members can’t join every day. Join when you can. And remember, you can join anywhere (from your car, while walking) and you are welcome to join just for a short ten-minute chat.
Am I too old?
I have many students in their 70s and at least one or two in their 80s. They like English because it keeps their brain young and fresh. You’re never too old for stronger English or a stronger brain.
